the sweetest guilty pleasure

i never knew how to take a leap of faith.
to see the world in gods eyes.
to see the impossible strike right in front of me.

i was always someone who believed in rules and regulations.
i use to think they would set me straight and keep order in my life.
until i met you.

so we came up with a rule,
cause i didnt know how else to do things.
it was that we would be limited to 167 words per day.
so when the phone would ring, i'd put it in my ear and not mutter a sound,
in the restaurants, i would point at the chicken.
during concerts, i'd just jump but not scream at the top of my lungs.

at night, i called you.
proud to say that i only used 59 words tops and that i saved the rest for you today.
when he didnt respond, i knew that he had used up all his words.
so i said "i love you"
for the remaining number of words i had left in me.
after that, we sat in silence.
listening to the uneven, heavy breathings.

my sweetest guilty pleasure you were.
